How I Work

A structured method in 5 phases, built on transparency, listening and expertise.

We clarify your circumstances, priorities and expectations, then assess whether the service fits. This conversation does not include actionable investment recommendations.

The 5-phase journey

The proposal considers goals, horizon, financial circumstances, knowledge and experience. We discuss risks, liquidity, costs and scenario assumptions.

Phase 1

Introductory meeting

About 30 minutes, with no obligation

We clarify your circumstances, priorities and expectations, then assess whether the service fits. This conversation does not include actionable investment recommendations.

  • In the office or by video
  • Goals and main liquidity needs
  • Documents that may be needed next
Phase 2

Review of circumstances

Information and documents to gather

I review investments, commitments and resources relevant to the agreed goals. Specialist tax, legal and pension matters require the relevant professionals.

  • Map of disclosed assets and debts
  • Portfolio consistency and concentrations
  • Available pension records and assumptions to check
Phase 3

Proposal and discussion

Alternatives, risks and terms

The proposal considers goals, horizon, financial circumstances, knowledge and experience. We discuss risks, liquidity, costs and scenario assumptions.

  • Reasons for the proposed solutions
  • Cost information before joining
  • Time for questions and alternatives
Phase 4

Implementation

Agreed transactions

Any engagement follows the intermediary’s contractual documents. Transactions require the applicable authorisations; timing and availability depend on the instruments and accounts involved.

  • Service and product documents
  • Procedures and deadlines
  • Intermediary confirmations and statements
Phase 5

Periodic review

Reassessing goals and assumptions

Where included in the service, we review the portfolio and plan at the agreed intervals. Please report family, employment or liquidity changes: they may affect decisions.

  • Reporting under the contract
  • Checking consistency with goals
  • Discussing and authorising any changes

The principles that guide my work

Alternatives, risks and terms.

Selection criteria and open architecture

The intermediary’s open architecture allows me to consider solutions from different asset managers within its available offering. I compare alternatives in relation to objectives, risks, costs and liquidity. Investment advice is provided on a non-independent basis.

Information before joining

Costs, charges and conflicts of interest are described in the service and product documents; we discuss them before proceeding.

Personal relationship

We agree how to communicate, what information to share and when to review the plan. Urgent operational needs should use the intermediary’s appropriate channels.

Goal-based approach

I assess choices against goals, horizons and the ability to bear losses. The plan needs review when these conditions change.

Before deciding

Limits to consider

  • • Simulations depend on assumptions
  • • Liquidity differs across instruments
